The DECA teacher and the counselor did not get back with me which is okay but I wish people would understand that sometimes it takes all of my strength to pick up the phone and call new people and explain our story - so my advice if anyone who has lost someone special calls and says they are giving a scholarship in their loved ones memory, the call should be returned as soon as possible - we decided as a family who to give the DECA scholarship and its a great senior - I just need to meet with the principal at North and set up a procedure so the scholarship is not forgotten when teachers change. I remember meeting the young people who gave the Nate Fleming scholarship at North and how they were thinking of not giving it any more because they didnt know anyone at the school - we told them we were inspired to give the scholarships at North by what Nates family did - though we know few people at North which is part of the passing of time - I know each scholarship has impacted the young person we give it to and their family and friends and they share Jennifers story and keep her memory alive which makes me hopeful and happy:)
