The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were written to declare our right to live and think free from the shackles and tyranny of an oppressive government. Today, we find our freedom under attack from within. We have allowed government to grow and expand to the point where we now find ourselves oppressed, bullied, and spied upon by our own government. We have given it power, the power to limit our freedom in the name of peace and safety. Conservatives, liberals, democrats and republican alike have pushed to enforce their collective will on the people of the United States. Regardless of whether you supported the Affordable Healthcare Act or the Right to Life, you are the problem. You have empowered the government to impose upon the people. Give us back the right to make our own choices. Gives us back the right to make our own mistakes and triumphs. Do not place one group or ideal above another. Stop voting to empower the government and start voting to empower the people. We are frustrated with Congress and the President, but we only have ourselves to blame. We are lazy and prefer someone else make the hard decisions. We prefer nit to offend anyone. We need to engage and take the power back from this government. Otherwise, these documents stop being the core values and ideals of a free nation and start becoming relics.
