With rising energy costs, it’s more important than ever to make sure your home is weatherized, energy efficient and prepared for colder weather. Efficiency Maine can help. For a limited time, Efficiency Maine is offering up to $600 to help weatherize your home and protect against chilly drafts next winter with air sealing and insulation solutions. Air sealing can keep your home cooler in the summer too. That’s up to $600 off home upgrades that will help you lower your energy costs and make your home more comfortable. (Unitil customers can get up to $1,200 toward the cost of air sealing and insulation.) It’s easy. Here’s how it works: 1. Get Started. Find an Efficiency Maine Participating Energy Advisor near you and schedule an appointment for a home energy assessment. Be sure to mention this promotion when making your appointment. 2. Complete the project. Have your Participating Energy Advisor or other approved contractor complete at least 6 hours of air sealing and/or insulation work in your home to prevent drafts and warm air escaping. 3. Receive up to $600 off. When work is complete, your contractor will perform a blower door test to measure the new air flow in your home to determine how much energy savings you’ll realize with the improvements. The contractor can then either discount you the rebate amount at the completion of the work or submit the necessary paperwork to Efficiency Maine and provide you with the rebate after it’s processed. Note: The project must have a value of at least $600 to receive the full $600 discount. 4. Enjoy the benefits and learn more. Since you have already completed a home energy assessment, you can use this as an action plan to save even more money on your energy bills by making additional energy improvements to your home. Click here to learn how you can get started on a whole-house weatherization plan with the help of a home energy loan from Efficiency Maine.
