The Experience .... After have a conversation tonight with a FB friend I have gotten to know well over the past few years ... I felt the need to share this. Whether this is the first time you read/hear about this let me clear up some things that may lose or gain me friends/followers ... 1.) DO NOT PURSUE THIS HOBBY TO MAKE MONEY ... cause if you are smart enough to do the math .... you will be HIGHLY disappointed. 2.) If you have a collection that will pay for the up-keep ... you are good. Take your time - if you are competing it is because you allowed it ... 3.) To buy cheap .... is not a wise decision - buy from reptile breeders who produce quality ...buying cheap produces cheap. 4.) Listen to advice - do not fall into the what others say - BE AN INDIVIDUAL and seek those you want to surround yourself with - YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT! 5.) The book you are reading - PLEASE finish it and ask questions afterwards to quality breeders with experience after the date of the year the book was published - we are all here to help one another .... learn to read between the lines and set personal differences aside. 6.) Breeding snakes is this simple - what works for me may not for you - FIND YOUR OWN PATH with the advice given ... 7.) Before you low ball a breeder - know why you are low balling before doing so and asking for a payment plan 8.) BE RESPECTFUL to those who are offering advice - ESPECIALLY when they have more experience to answer than you have maturity 9.) You are losing money by auctioning and selling cheap .... and it reflects on you as a seller. 10.) BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY - your reputation is everything. Speaking from experience ... breeders will call a spade a spade ... regardless ... and a few of them did the same for me on a matter that I highly respect REGARDLESS of my argument- how it was handled is why that breeder and I STILL do business together and are still good with each other - LISTEN TO ADVICE ..... With all that being said - I welcome all new breeders and hope that I can help in any way possible - but if you want to dispute me or other breeders that I have respect for - the goal of this hobby is being able to witness the birth or obtain animals along with the responsibility regarding the care of the experience! If it pays for itself or you lose some money - NEVER - Lose sight of what are a part of as a community in the long run - experience is priceless.
