The Facts. 1. New Zealanders have a workplace participation rate of 78% compared to Australians 68% (Australian DIAC statistics) 2. Australians in New Zealand receive Citizenship after 2 years .. 3. Most (90%) New Zealanders in Australia do not have the option to apply for Permanent Residence because , like Australians in NZ would not qualify under the strict rules. 4. In 2001 New Zealanders were paying 2.5 billion in tax in Aust. but receiving 0.9 billion in Social security. 6. 2001 the Australian Govt changed the rules. Now we pay tax but get limited social security. Our Visa allows us to stay indefinitely. But we are denied social security. 7. We cannot EVER access Sickness benefit, Youth allowance, Parenting Payments, HECS, Disability support, Newstart, Emergency Housing and much more. 8. And yet we pay tax to fund these programs for Australians. 9. The New Zealand Govt has a Bill of Rights, which make it illegal to discriminate on the basis of Nationality. 10. NZers still come at 1000 per week knowing that we cannot get any the dole. We come to work. These are the facts.
