I guess they think the Apaches didnt get screwed enough. GREED makes these Republicans absolutely AMORAL! The land being given to the Australian mining company includes many sacred sites, places where the Apache go for their rituals and prayers, land which yields their medicines and food. The land contains one of the largest copper deposits in our country -- and copper is a high-demand mineral since it is used so heavily in the electronics industry. Someone will be getting very rich very quickly ... and the mining will have a profound negative environmental effect for generations. This so-called land swap (I cant find what land were getting in return, btw) is part of the National Defense Authorization Act, a must-pass bill that sets the nation’s defense policy. It passed the House last week and will be voted on by the Senate next week.
