The Golan family from Ramat Magshimim have a tough story. The parents, Ohed and Miriam, have three children. The oldest, a 10-year-old boy, has been struggling with kidney disease since the day he was born. For years, their life is in constant motion from Schneider’s Children Medical Center in Petach Tikvah to their home in Ramat Hagolan and back. If that weren’t enough, at the beginning of last summer, the parents got the crushing news that their little son, 5-year-old Ro’i was diagnosed with leukemia. The battle is difficult, and a number of organizations have been trying to ease the Golan family’s struggle, each in its own way. Foremost among them is Ezer Mizion. In addition to the Sherut Leumi girls that constantly surround and care for Ro’i, Ezer Mizion puts at the disposal of the Golan family all the services of Oranit, its warm convalescent home for cancer patients who live far from treatment centers, offering an abundance of activities for Roi, his siblings and their parents. On one of his trips from the hospital in Petach Tikvah back up to the Golan, Rois father, Ohed, listened to “Gam Ki Eileich,” a moving piece sung by Yishai Rebo that speaks of dealing with difficulties and holding on to one’s faith. Since then, the song has empowered him in his most trying moments. In order to express his thanks and appreciation to Ezer Mizion and to encourage his little boy, Ohed decided to ask the popular singer to record the song together with him in order to create a clip combining pictures of Ro’i and photos from the disk. The final product would be used to raise awareness Ezer Mizions wonderful work that is so helpful to the family. Yishai Rebo responded happily to the request and even came especially to Ramat Hagolan to record the song together with Ohed. Pauza Productions in Kefar Charuv rallied to the cause and volunteered the services of their recording studio and video production company. They produced the song by and for the Golan family, as well as a clip that was recently posted on the Web and is attached here.
