The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is visible from space, about 20m - TopicsExpress

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is visible from space, about 20m deep (plastic soup) and about the size of Canada. This is not plastic that people throw into the sea or on a beach. Winds, rivers and ocean currents transport garbage to this plastic island. The birds on the Midway Islands are just a minor indication of a global problem. We are slowly poisoning ourselves with plastic. Oh, yes, YOU CAN DO A LOT ABOUT IT! Reduce, reuse, recycle. Most of all, REDUCE!
