The Homicide Squad is investigating a Homicide which occurred in Rockville Centre on Thursday, August 22, 2013. According to detectives, the body of a teenage female was discovered at 10:00 P.M. on the Mill Pond footbridge located between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road. The deceased was pronounced at the scene at 10:15 P.M. by paramedics. The body was removed to the Nassau County Medical Examiners Office to determine the cause of death. Identification is being withheld pending family notification. The investigation is ongoing. Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous. *****UPDATE***** Detectives have identified the deceased as Lauren Daverin, 18, of Lynbrook. *****UPDATE***** Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of Maxwell Sherman, 18, of 21 Louisiana St., Long Beach, on 08/24/13 in connection with the above listed homicide. Maxwell is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Sunday, 08/25/13 in First District Court, Hempstead.
