The IRS has announced that due to the shutdown, the start of the tax return filing season is going to be pushed back one to two weeks. They were planning on accepting returns starting on January 21st, but will not accept them until January 28th at the earliest, and February 4th at the latest. However, they are not changing the filing due date of April 15th, and returns will still need to be filed or extended by that date. journalofaccountancy/News/20138974.htm
