The Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office has released surveillance footage of a man suspected in a Metairie robbery last week. According to a statement from JPSO, the robbery took place Friday (Oct. 11) about 9:57 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Kent Avenue. A JPSO spokesman said a 31-year-old woman was walking to her car that morning when she was approached by a man who demanded that she hand over her phone. The man, who was not armed, grabbed the phone from the womans hand and fled the scene on foot. The woman described her assailant as being between the ages of 20 and 25 years old and approximately 5 foot 9 inches to 5 foot 11 inches tall. She said he had slim build and a light complexion. The man was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and gray and white tennis shoes. JPSO obtained surveillance footage from a nearby building that shows the man leaving the parking lot after the crime. Anyone with any information on the identity of the man is asked to contact the JPSO Robbery Section at 504.364.5376 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
