The Jungle City Exhibition 2011 was organised by the charity Elephant Family. The exhibition comprised of 130 sculptures of elephants, tigers, orangutangs and hornbills originally located throughout Edinburgh before coming together at the Dovecott Studios in Infirmary Street. The sculptures were painted by many different artists and studios. They were sold by auction at the end of the exhibition to raise money for the charity. Chris Reas and his daughter Josephine participated and contributed to the organization charity, sculpturing the Jazzee Blue crocodile and Lakshmi tiger. Elephant Family is a conservation charity set up to protect Asian elephants and their habitat. Elephant Family exists to save this iconic animal from extinction in the wild, along with tigers, orangutans and all the other animals who share their habitat.
