The Katharine Howard Foundation (KHF) in collaboration with the Community Foundation for Ireland (CFI) has announced a new three year, Parenting Support Initiative (2013-2016). The initiative aims to support a number of projects in socio-economically disadvantaged areas or specific socially disadvantaged (target) groups, engaged in collaborative approaches to working with parents of children from birth to 3 years. In particular, the Parenting Support Initiative welcomes applications from projects that promote and support parents in their parental role, improve outcomes (health, well being and learning) for their young children (from birth to 3 years) and work in a collaborative and integrated way. The initiative will also seek to identify and learn from community based parent support programmes and projects that encourage creative and innovative ways of supporting parents of young children and promote and build on good practice using evidence-based and/or evidence informed approaches.
