The King of all onions! - Walla Walla Sweet For generations this variety has been the pride of Washington States onion-producing region. A very late-maturing, Long Day onion that is nearly as sweet and mild as the Short Day types from southern growing areas. Make very large, yellow-skinned, white-fleshed, thick-ringed bulbs when transplanted out early in the North, but does not store as well as pungent varieties. Recipe: Slice thick, brush with olive oil & sprinkle with kosher salt. Grill until hot and softening. Put on the burger of your choice. Cant get easier than that... or better tasting.
