The Last Guardian is absolutely in the mix at Sonys Worldwide Studios, according to PlayStation software product development head Scott Rohde. Originally slated for a 2011 release, the Team Ico-developed PS3 exclusive has been missing in action amid a long history of delays. In an interview with IGN however, Rohde says the game is still in the mix, indicating that the studio has not been abandoned. Youre going to be very frustrated by thisanswer, Rohde said when questioned on the title, but it is 100 percent the Gods honest truth, and that is that we want to make great games. And when we see that the public is so interested in a specific game, of course that drives us to want to complete that game. Rohde said that despite the games status, the company has no announcements to make at present. [Were] not going to announce what platform its coming on, whos working on it, whos involved. But that is still a title thats absolutely in the mix at Worldwide Studios. Thats the most youre gonna get. Its not the first time a Sony spokesperson has promised the game is still in development: last year, Shuhei Yoshida told CVG that the game is still in development. Yeah we are still making it, he said. So we are still waiting for the right time to announce it. To re-announce it. Reports in October that suggested that the game is being re-engineered has sparked rumours the game will release for PS4. Originally announced at E3 in 2009, the projects status was first called into question when lead designer Fumito Ueda resigned from Japan Studio in late 2011.
