The Life and Times of Charlene Mohr Charlene was born to Jimmie and Dorothy Mujais in Canton, Ohio on October 26, 1949. She was one of six children. She spent her childhood playing with her siblings and many cousins. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1967. After high school she met Bob Mohr on a bowling league. She wasnt interested right away because she already had a boyfriend. After pursuing her, Bob won her heart and they began dating. They fell in love and were married on March 14, 1970. They promptly moved to Chicago for Bob’s job where Char was very happy to be a homemaker, but became very lonely. Gratefully after only a short time in Chicago, they moved back to Canton and learned they were expecting their first child, Melanie, who was born on January 15, 1971. Two more children quickly followed: Leigh Ann on December 20, 1972, and then Bobby on June 25, 1974. Bob was busy working on cars and Charlene was very happy to stay home and raise her three children. She loved to cook, bake, sew, and clean! She always had the cleanest house and loved doing laundry and ironing! Later, after the children grew up, Char went to work at Canton City Schools in various positions and ended up at The Early Childhood Center as the school secretary. She loved that job because she could interact with the children and watch them learn and grow. She also made lifelong friends there. After her children grew up, moved out and married, she prayed for grandchildren. She was extremely blessed to have eight grandchildren in less than 5 years!! To say she was ecstatic to be a grandmother is an understatement. If being a mother was a blessing to her and her life’s work, being a grandmother was her calling. She loved every moment she spent with each of her grandchildren. As they got older she would make sure she spent one-on-one time with each one. They would choose a time to have a sleepover with her, and they would cook together, watch movies and eat popcorn. She cherished all the small moments she was able to have with her grand kids. It was after her husband Bob was nearing the end of his battle with cancer that he urged her to change employment to have better benefits so she went to work at Alliance Imaging. She worked there for approximately 8 years. She made some very good friends there also. Char had many hobbies. She loved to dance, any chance she got! She loved the swimming pool, swimming laps and taking water aerobic classes. She also enjoyed card games and teaching her grandchildren any new games that she learned. One of her favorite games and a family tradition was Tripoley! It was a must whenever family got together! The grand kids made up a game for her, called “Oh, Grandma Char!!” She always had fun, and loved to laugh! Her laugh was infectious. Char never met a stranger! She made friends wherever she went, and was always willing to listen when you needed a friend, or some sound advice. She spoke her mind, and told you how she felt. She always told the truth, and was extremely honest. She never let a person go hungry and would feed you at her home, or bring a meal to you. She was the kindest, most loving person to so many. She was a faithful member of First Friends Church and was always supporting the many causes at the church. She was on the welcoming committee, made food for funerals, helped at marriage retreats and taught helped in the kids’ Sunday School classes. She was also active with Vacation Bible School. She loved to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and never wavered in her love and devotion to Christ. She was a shining example of God’s Love, and extended her hand to anyone in need. She is preceded in death by her parents; Jimmie and Dorothy Mujais, husband Robert J. Mohr, her brother Jimmie Mujais Jr., sister-in-law Mary Mujais, brother-in-law Steve Mohr, father-in-law John Mohr, and brother-in-law Dan Gottschall. She will be missed by all who loved her; her children, her grandchildren, her sisters and brother, her nieces and nephews, her friends and other family members. She was a blessing to all who knew her and has left a lasting legacy of love.
