The New Testament speaks of undeniable proofs. There are in some quarters assertions that cannot be proven, and these unproven claims are advanced as their own self-evident evidence based on their mystery. This is another example of the lack of validity of a circular argument. It is also a complete misunderstanding of mystery . A mystery in Greek thought is that which was previously unknown, but which is now disclosed. New Testament claims for faith are based on known objective transferable truth. The proofs of the resurrection are there for that reason. Peter before the Sanhedrin argues that the apostles must tell what they have seen and heard. Jesus challenged Thomas with objective empirical proof that his body was indeed the one crucified. Claims that truth is hidden and available to a special initiated class is not Christian biblical teaching. This is the root of gnostic thought. Every new heresy begins with claims of new truth. When someone claims that they have truth given only to them, RUN!!!
