The November to remember. We started at the Kapama Private Game Reserve in northern South Africa and ended our journey in brilliant and colourful Cape Town. Our road trip ( just the two of us in a rented car) began in Port Elizabeth in Eastern Cape province and took us down a spectacular highway along the coast of the Indian Ocean into the wine land districts of Stellenbosch, onto Cape Point and then finally to Cape Town for 4 days of R&R. We saw all kinds of things, had a rich cocktail of experiences and met some very interesting people. Our second trip and certainly not our last. I also discovered the richness of contemporary South African writing. The ability to capture the turmoil and numerous betrayals of its people (and fictional characters) against a landscape that is both inspiring and daunting.
