The Portage Police Department is currently investigating numerous vandalisms that occurred from August 10th-12th. The vandalisms, which seemed to concentrate in the area of Savannah Heights subdivision and a neighborhood near Olson Park involved spray painting of garage doors, sidewalks, signs at Olson Park and numerous vehicles. Two of the vehicles vandalized were unmarked police cars one each belonging to the Porter County Sheriff’s Department and Portage Police Department. The Portage Police Department detective bureau is investigating all of the vandalisms and is currently reviewing surveillance footage caught on one of the victim’s security system hoping to identify two male subjects seen vandalizing vehicles.
