The Portland Police Bureau’s Robbery Detail, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help to identify a robbery suspect. On August 9, 2014, at 5:12 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Jackson’s Shell Station, located at 15 Northeast Broadway. The victim told police that the suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining some cash, the suspect ran out of the business. At 5:21 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Plaid Pantry store, located at 2010 North Killingsworth Street on the report of an armed robbery. Officers learned that the suspect in the 2nd robbery matched the description in the earlier robbery. The suspect is described as an African American female, 5’4” to 5’6” tall, 140 to 160 pounds, wearing a tan baseball cap with a white letter “A” on the front, very short, multi-colored shorts, a multi-colored backless shirt, flip flops, an ankle wrap on her left foot, and a black bandana over her face. Video and still images from both locations are being released to the public to aid in this investigation. Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the investigator. Anyone with second-hand information is asked to share it with police. Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared with investigators as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects. Links can be shared directly with investigators or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
