The Prayer of Realignment ::: What is the purpose of prayer?” Purpose of Prayer #1 – To change things around us #2 – To intercede for the needs of other people #3 – For confession of sin and worshiping God and thanking Him for His goodness and giving Him praise **THE HIGEST AND GREATEST PUPOSE OF PRAYER** “The Prayer of Realignment” As a follower of Christ, my heart is constantly “slipping out of tune” with what I know to be God‟s will for my life. Because of this, my heart is in constant need of “spiritual re - tuning” and “spiritual realignment” with God‟s will for my life. I‟m such a deep and incorrigible sinner that I need to be “spiritually re - tuned” multiple times every day! Question:: “How do we wrestle our human will to the ground and make 100% alignment to the will of God?” Answer :: “We use the exact same spiritual mechanism‟ that Jesus used in the Garden of Gethsemane 2000 years ago – the prayer of realignment.” So often when we are struggling with these things, we don‟t go to God like Jesus did in Gethsemane – we try to tame our rebellious wills ourselves – which is why we get so bruised and defeated. These battles between our will and God‟s will are supernatural battles – and we must fight them with supernatural weaponry! We must fight them with the “Prayer of Realignment” – relying on God to spiritually realign our hearts and recalibrate our wills by the power of the Holy Spirit. God will do this for us if we sincerely seek it from Him. Visiting the “ Garden of Gethsemane” for God to spiritually realign our hearts needs to be a daily experience in our Christian lives. As a result of His “prayer of realignment,” Jesus came out of the Garden of Gethsemane spiritually different than He went in – and so will you and I!
