The Ransom—God’s Greatest Gift WHAT THE RANSOM CAN MEAN FOR YOU Despite our sinful condition, we can enjoy priceless blessings because of the ransom. Let us consider some of the present and future benefits of this greatest gift from God. The forgiveness of sins. Because of inherited imperfection, we have a real struggle to do what is right. All of us sin either in word or in deed. But by means of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice, we can receive “the forgiveness of our sins.” (Colossians 1:13, 14) To gain that forgiveness, however, we must be truly repentant. We must also humbly appeal to Jehovah, asking his forgiveness on the basis of our faith in the ransom sacrifice of his Son.—1 John 1:8, 9. A clean conscience before God. A guilty conscience can easily lead to hopelessness and make us feel worthless. Through the forgiveness made possible by the ransom, though, Jehovah kindly enables us to worship him with a clean conscience despite our imperfection. (Hebrews 9:13, 14) This makes it possible for us to have freeness of speech with Jehovah. Therefore, we can freely approach him in prayer. (Hebrews 4:14-16) Maintaining a clean conscience gives peace of mind, promotes self-respect, and contributes to happiness. The hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth. “The wages sin pays is death,” says Romans 6:23. The same verse adds: “But the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” In Chapter 3 of this book, we discussed the blessings of the coming earthly Paradise. (Revelation 21:3, 4) All those future blessings, including life everlasting in perfect health, are made possible because Jesus died for us. To receive those blessings, we need to show that we appreciate the gift of the ransom. ¿CÓMO PUEDE BENEFICIARLE A USTED EL RESCATE? Gracias al rescate podemos disfrutar de maravillosas bendiciones a pesar de ser pecadores. Veamos algunos beneficios presentes y futuros del mayor regalo que Dios nos ha hecho. El perdón de los pecados. Como hemos heredado la imperfección, para nosotros es una verdadera lucha hacer el bien. Todos pecamos, sea con nuestras palabras o con nuestras obras. Pues bien, gracias al sacrificio de Jesús podemos obtener “el perdón de nuestros pecados” (Colosenses 1:13, 14). Sin embargo, para ello debemos arrepentirnos de corazón. También tenemos que pedirle humildemente a Jehová que nos perdone tomando como base nuestra fe en el sacrificio de su Hijo (1 Juan 1:8, 9). Una conciencia limpia ante Dios. La conciencia culpable nos deja sin esperanza y con el sentimiento de que no valemos nada. Pero gracias al rescate, Jehová nos perdona y tiene la bondad de permitir que, aun siendo imperfectos, lo adoremos con la conciencia limpia (Hebreos 9:13, 14). De este modo, tenemos confianza para hablar con él, o sea, para orarle con toda libertad (Hebreos 4:14-16). Además, al mantener la conciencia limpia, disfrutamos de tranquilidad mental, nos sentimos bien con nosotros mismos y somos más felices. La esperanza de vivir eternamente en un paraíso terrestre. “El salario que el pecado paga es muerte”, dice Romanos 6:23. Ahora bien, ese mismo versículo añade: “Pero el don que Dios da es vida eterna por Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor”. En el capítulo 3 de este libro vimos las bendiciones del Paraíso terrestre que se aproxima (Revelación [Apocalipsis] 21:3, 4). Todas esas bendiciones, incluida la de vivir para siempre con salud perfecta, serán posibles porque Jesús murió por nosotros. (எபிரெயர் 9:13, 14) இதனால் தைரியமாக நாம் யெகோவாவுடன் பேச முடிகிறது. ஜெபத்தில் அவரைத் தாராளமாக அணுக முடிகிறது. (எபிரெயர் 4:14-16) அதுமட்டுமல்ல, சுத்தமான மனசாட்சி மனநிம்மதியை அளிக்கிறது, சுயகெளரவத்தைக் கூட்டுகிறது, சந்தோஷத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறது. பரதீஸ் பூமியில் நித்தியமாக வாழும் நம்பிக்கை. “பாவத்தின் சம்பளம் மரணம்” என ரோமர் 6:23 சொல்கிறது. ஆனால், அதே வசனம் “தேவனுடைய கிருபை வரமோ நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவினால் உண்டான நித்திய ஜீவன்” என்றும் சொல்கிறது. வரவிருக்கும் பரதீஸ் பூமியின் ஆசீர்வாதங்களைப் பற்றி இப்புத்தகத்தின் 3-ம் அதிகாரத்தில் கலந்தாலோசித்தோம்.
