The Raw Emotions of UGA Fan So its the 2014 season & it is 4 days since the Bulldawgs lost to the Gamecocks (Which turns out, they really didnt) & there has been much frustration within the Bulldawg Nation. After thinking about this and reading my Facebook wall, I heard much of the same lament. Immediately this scene from the movie Braveheart came to mind. In this scene, William Wallace bows down to his father-in-law, MacClannough, for indirectly causing Murrons death. In a sense, Wallace is asking for mercy. MacClannough raises his trembling hand to Wallace bowed head and it looks like he wants to strike or kill Wallace. Instead, MacClannough opens his hand and puts it on Wallaces head. Forgiveness. Mercy. What does this have to do with UGA Football? Bulldawg Nation, how many times have we been through this heartbreak? How many times have we have had the best talent only to come up with mixed results? This scene is more about the Bulldawg Nation and the raw emotions we feel after such a loss and yet, in the end, its still great to be a Georgia Bulldawg! MacClannough is the Bulldawg Nation and Wallace is the football team. We want to be mad and vent our frustrations; yet we love them and are with them during the bad times and the good times. *** For the sake of disclosure, this might look an attempt to elevate college football and the University of Georgia to the level of the divine. I assure you, that is not my intention nor is it my belief. Its a game. And I would gladly trade my UGA degree in for a chance to enroll in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This is more of a parody of how frustrated I feel after losing. Thats it!
