The Rays are getting rid of what was one of the worst offensive lineups Ive ever seen. Today they traded Ben Zobrist and Yunel Escobar to the Oakland As. They get back John Jaso, a catcher who can hit, a highly rated young shortstop prospect, Dan Robertson, and Boog Powell, a minor league outfielder who hit .343 last year. Neither Zobrist not Yunel was worth a damn last year. Im not exactly sure whos going to play shortstop this year, but hes got to hit and field better than Yunel, though I will miss screaming out his melodic sounding name. Yunel. Yunel. Yunel. This year we have another Escobar, Astrubal, who just might be our guy, and well enjoy chanting Astrubal, Astrubal, Astrubal. Matt Silverman is stirring things up. Are A rod and Ryan Howard far behind?
