The Royal Concert Hall steps at the top of Buchanan Street are one of the most important parts of the social and political landscape of Glasgow City centre. They are the site of countless demonstrations every month and the destination for thousand of city centre workers, students, shoppers and tourists. They are a rare place to meet, have a seat, eat and soak up some of Glasgows world famous sunshine ;). First the council tried to make George Square into a no protest zone, and we defeated them. Now theyre trying to take away our steps! No way! Please sign this petition (even if youve never been to Glasgow) and join the demonstration this Saturday at 2pm to help us save our steps. These steps were made for demonstrating and for the people. Help us stop the steps being demolished and turned into more corporate retail space for private profit.
