The Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in effect across the immediate - TopicsExpress

The Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in effect across the immediate Greater Cincinnati area will be permitted to expire as the line of activity continues to press off to the east. An isolated wind gust on the order of 50-55 mph through Brown and Clinton counties extending into Highland and Adams over the next hour will be possible. The most intense activity is confined to the area north of the I-70 corridor in central Ohio, where there is an unconfirmed report of a brief, weak tornado and a reported wind gust measured at 86 mph. This activity will continue to be the strongest in that region. Flash flood and flood advisories remain in effect, mostly due to the heavy rains and higher degree of saturation which will allow for plenty of run-off with any additional rainfall. If you live in a flood-prone area, please remain aware of creek and stream levels and be prepared to seek higher ground. Remember, flash flooding is the number one-ranked weather killer in the United States. The cold front responsible for the thunderstorm activity this afternoon remains in northwest Indiana and continues to slowly slide in our direction. This frontal boundary will push through the area late this evening into the overnight hours and will usher in a cooler, drier airmass which will persist through the weekend, bringing daytime highs in the lower to mid 80s with overnight lows in the middle 50s to lower 60s. -Corey
