The Sky Bar (for Frank Tully) ======== Remembering the Sky bar,the shutdown,and the crac, conveyors and buckets,a chain block and a jack; thirsty throats,parched tongues,flour coated, a bottle of coke,Russian voddie,then we`d gloat. No more the Sugarhouse bar,closed for the season, a misty night,the gaffers,almost caught the reason. Hard graft,hard fun,a constant lubrication, not with oil,no grease,but the sky bar sensation. Lunchtime,a pool table,sometime we would eat, export,lager,guinness bitter,yet so sweet; only six hour more to go,have a cider, maybe keep you going until you hit the sky bar. The Skybar,almost on a roof,to share with gulls and pigeons;with Jimmy`s and Wulls, with Rabs and Tams,with Jocks and Micks, aye the Skybar,cameraderie,done the trick. =================================
