The Tübingen Quranic manuscript (signature Ma VI 165) has been carbon dated with a 95.4% statistical probability to be from between 649-675 AD. Thats just around 20 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. This manuscript debunks a whole cornucopia of Orientalist theories about the origin of the Quran and the reliability of the Arabic writing system in that time. The text is dotted and the C14 radiocarbon analysis completely destroys the theory that the Quran was written 100-200 years after the Prophet or that it evolved over those 2 centuries. It must be noted that this is just one manuscript of many that have also been placed in the 1st Century Anno Hegirae or the 7th Century AD. There is no other religious text (or ANY text, for that matter) that I am aware of that has this strong of an archaeological testimony to its authenticity. (via Shibli Zaman)
