The University received news today about the passing of two distinguished individuals who played significant roles in The Catholic University of America’s history. Dr. Edmund Pellegrino was a distinguished scholar and well regarded administrator who served as the 11th President of the University (1978-1982). It was during his tenure that Pope John Paul II visited campus. Dr. Pellegrino passed away yesterday. To learn more about Dr. Pellegrino, see bit.ly/10iqgJd. Mr. Joseph Unanue, alumnus of our School of Engineering, former trustee, and former CEO of Goya Foods, was a generous benefactor of the University.
