The “Walk for Schengen” Campaign is the reaction of our organisation towards EU’s indefensible delay regarding the Western Balkans accesion on the EU and Eastern Balkans (Romania and Bulgaria) accession to the Schengen space. The “Walk for Schengen” Campaign start on the 1st of August 2013 (Serbia) with a march of protest (one-way walk) of volunteers on the Bucharest-Brussels way. The “Walk for Schengen” Campaign will end in Brussels by filing the petition “We demand a concrete timeline of West Balkans accesion to the EU and the accesion of the Romania and Bulgaria to the Schengen space” at the Council of the European Union (Justice and Home Affairs) and the European Parliament (Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs).
