The White House and Governor Mike Pence have proclaimed today - TopicsExpress

The White House and Governor Mike Pence have proclaimed today #ReligiousFreedom Day for 2014. Currently the ACLU of Indiana docket includes more than a half-dozen religious freedom cases, including the cross display on public property in #Evansville, the right for secular celebrants to marry couples in #Indiana, and several cases involving the Indiana Department of Corrections denying religious freedom to prisoners of various faiths. President Obama says, Today, America embraces people of all faiths and of no faith. We are Christians and Jews, Muslims and Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs, atheists and agnostics. Our religious diversity enriches our cultural fabric and reminds us that what binds us as one is not the tenets of our faiths, the colors of our skin, or the origins of our names. What makes us American is our adherence to shared ideals -- freedom, equality, justice, and our right as a people to set our own course. See how this principle is playing out in Indiana by viewing our legal docket at aclu-in.org/litigation.
