The Yankees defeated the Rays 4-2 to take the weekend series 2-1. Hiroki Kuroda was the winning pitcher going 6.2 innings & giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. The Yankees used 3 relievers with David Robertson getting his 33rd save. The Yankees scored 3 runs in the 5th as Brett Gardner drove in 2 & Jacoby Ellsbury singled in the other. Tex got an insurance run with a homer in the 8th, The Blue Jays lost & the Yankees moved ahead of them in the standings. Amazingly the Yankees are still in the playoff race despite losing 5 starting pitchers to injuries. The Yankees are off Monday & open up a 3 game series with the Astros on Tuesday. Lets go Bronx Bombers.
