The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed on the LGI roof as the Tour de France was about to start. The casualty was unconnected with the race and was being brought to A&E for assessment. After the helicopter landed our Chief Medical Officer - who is on site in the Silver Command rooms - came up with a small group to meet the crew, who do a fantastic job in bringing patients quickly to our major trauma centre.
