The beauty of living in a modern democracy is that we are able to freely and openly exercise our constitutional right to publicly express our opinions. The Israel-Hamas conflict, yes Israel-Hamas, not Israeli-Palestinian, Jewish-Arab or Israeli-Arab, has become, as it always does, a heated and contested conflict among citizens on an international front. Although this right to express ourselves remains true to all conflicts, the Israel-Hamas conflict continues to be at the forefront of the global political agenda. For whatever reason the world remains silent when it comes to the persecution of the Falun Gong in China or the hundreds of girls murdered in Nigeria, but members of the global community all seem to have an opinion when it comes to Israel. This, however, is your constitutional right, and I urge you to continue exercising it when it comes to all conflicts. The only thing I ask of you all is to remain as informed as possible before exercising this right. If you are going to actively publicize your beliefs, I urge you to know what youre talking about.
