The best word to describe the new Nicki Minaj album The Pinkprint is meh. Its not horrible. However, it isnt groundbreaking. There are a few songs that have some substantial weight to them. I like my songs to feel something fluctuate through the lyrics which this album has at moments. Yet, we find ourselves back at those cringeworthy lyrics and even songs on here from time to time. It tends to get a little too sugary for a Hip Hop album for my taste as well. The only thing Nicki needs is to establish her credibility as a poet to attract a more unique sound and style. This album shows at moments that she does have the potential to go a little deeper than how we should eat her ass like a cupcake.
