The biggest sporting event on the planet starts tomorrow at 3:00 PM local time in France (thats 10 AM here in the eastern USA). Im speaking, of course, about the 82nd running of The 24 Hours of LeMans (24 Heures du Mans). travel.nationalgeographic/travel/top-10/sporting-events/ Competing for the overall win in the LM-Prototype-1 class will be Toyota and Audi with Porsche returning to the fastest class after a long absence. All the cars in this class will be energy-saving hybrids. In the slower LM-Prototype-2 class, British cars from Morgan and Caterham (a spinoff company from Lotus that currently builds the Super 7) have a good chance against the French Oreca and Ligier teams. In the LMGTE class (which is closer to normal street cars), we have the British Aston-Martin team with a good shot against Corvettes, Ferraris, Porsches. For the star struck, TV star Patrick Dempsey will be driving an LMGTE Porsche 911 ;)
