The black belt test completed, I had killed it. The judges - TopicsExpress

The black belt test completed, I had killed it. The judges extolled congratulations. In coming weeks, invitations to the black belt ceremony extended. My hand remained empty. The thought hit me, “Maybe, I won’t be promoted.” Would I still come? Would I be embarrassed? Reflecting, I realized it was not about belt rank, or accolades for skills attained. It is about the journey, and the people; not the destination. The following night my Sensei handed me an invitation. He had taught me a valuable lesson in humility and life. Park your arrogance at the curb! The saying, “Now that you are black belt your training begins.” more poignantly understood.
