The cheerful glee in which some are cheering todays #SCOTUS - TopicsExpress

The cheerful glee in which some are cheering todays #SCOTUS decisions further proves we will continue taxing ourselves every time we blindly follow a party, instead of understanding how their decisions affect our homes. By allowing Hobby Lobby to pimp God as a reason to not pay for contraception, the Supreme Court said the government can choose to pay for it (which you know they will). We all know what that means, WE the taxpayers have just had another corporations financial responsibility transferred to us, and allowed them to once again keep more of their money. We are cheering on adding to our tax debt. We just subsidized Hobby Lobby and about 60 other large privately held corporations. BTW- Hobby Lobby has been paying for these same contraceptions for YEARS before it was part of Obamacare in addition, we are ALL paying for the ACA (or Obamacare) regardless of our feelings for it. Therefore, when Governor Pat McCrory decided to refuse the Medicaid Expansion, and people applauded it, we basically said thank you Gov. McCrory for allowing us to have our taxes raised, to support 26 other states, without getting anything for it. Other states are seeing the benefit of the Medicaid; while NC residents are just seeing their taxes go up. Mayor Adam ONeil is the Mayor of Belhaven, NC. He is begging Gov. McCrory to accept Medicaid expansion. These is HIS quote: “Our rural hospitals could hardly survive in the past due to the reimbursement for indigent care. Without Medicaid Expansion the reimbursements are falling and hospitals like the one in my hometown are on the brink of possibly even closing…. If you do not have critical access hospitals, people needlessly die. That’s a fact.” We have to stop looking at parties and start looking at results. Would you send payments to Ford for a car you cant drive, and will never see? Of course not, but that is what were about to start doing with Hobby Lobby and the other companies the SCOTUS just sided with. Would you like to pay more taxes in NC so people in CA can have Medicaid benefits while you cant? Well you are. And so am I. If I have to pay for it, I would like to see my fellow NC residents benefit from it. Now Im not a Democrat OR a Republican. I have no party affiliation. If you must know, Im fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I work hard for my money, and Id like to keep as much as I can. But Im also a Christian, and I shouldnt be able to buy another $10K+ Breitling watch at the expense of my housekeeper not able to save money to send her daughter to college, because of a GOVERNMENT hookup. Thats big government too Let me tell you a secret. There is NO SUCH THING as big government or small government. Its beneficial government. And unless you have enough money to be a major political donor, or own your own business, you will be a political victim to both parties equally. Lets start looking at the big picture and not just the soundbites from MSNBC and Fox News. If you notice, this entire rant was about economics (which I happen to have my Masters degree in- So I probably know more about the subject than most of you who will choose to debate me on this. I am also a business owner. And I fall in the 1% category (which isnt as impressive as it may sound considering over 50% of the population survive on less than $26,000/ yr. I dont want to tell you how to vote. Vote Democrat. Vote Republican. Thats none of my business. Just dont vote blindly by party. Thats ignorant. And that is my business. Its all of our business. Because we all have to suffering the consequence when ANY of us votes ignorantly. Thats my rant for the week. Sorry it was so long. God bless and dress well.
