The date of our next meeting, October 12, will mark the start of the six month countdown to 4/20, which will fall on a Monday. Im wondering if it might be best to hold our event on April 19, a Sunday, instead. The other thing on my mind is how appreciative I am of everyone who commits time and resources into this chapter. I expected a much tougher road than what we have been able to achieve; and, the futures of marijuana in South Carolina and ColumbiaNorml are in part thanks to those of who you make the time to attend meetings, make the phone calls, write the editorials, and send donations. I try not to sugar coat where we are in the long process of reorganizing this chapter, but we are in a much better position to build upon our successes. Before the end of the year, it is my goal as chapter President to have enough members to necessitate an election for officers. We still have work to do with regards to having functional bylaws in place and funds enough to really combat the prohibitionist backlash we are going to see when legislation we support has a real chance at passage. And as January approaches, were going to need all hands on deck. Its time for the chapter to grow.
