The doctor was in this morning to see dad and said he had lost too much blood through his drainage tubes causing his hemoglobin levels to plunge from 12 to 7 (hemoglobin is the oxygen carrying molecule in red blood cells). So, he has to receive a blood transfusion today. In addition signs of pneumonia are forming in his lungs. He is congested and will be receiving breathing treatments.
