The embattled position of Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, has cause the state government to not prioritise issues involving the people of the state due to the ongoing conundrum involving the state’s top administrative post. Klang MP Charles Santiago said, the people are now sandwiched between the water and haze problems against the backdrop of the Menteri Besar ‘impasse’. “Now the people of Selangor in particular the areas of Bandar Puteri, Klang are currently experiencing open burning which causes haze and and are most troubled because we will soon be experiencing water supply problems. “The open burning is causing terrible air pollution in 15 residential areas nearby that are populated by hundreds of thousands of people,” he said at a press conference at his constituency office this morning. According to him, the matter should be dealt with promptly by the state government and the responsible parties because it affects the population’s health. Charles said, at this time no action can be taken against the culprits who caused the open fire as many are unaware of who owns the land. “We can not bring the case to court due to lack of evidence. “I urge responsible parties to set aside politics for a while and figure out a solution to this problem,” he said.
