The end of our season for team tennis is here!!! I got an email about the show I told many you about in October that would be the direction that the production company went in for this year is premieres this Wednesday night on HBO. This is from the people that wants to follow team tennis groups maybe this summer. They emailed me to tell our parents to watch this one so they can see how the filming would go if they worked with our group. The show is call state of play and follows kids from several sports including one from tennis this season. It ended up on HBO after they hired Peter Berg to be the director of the show, cool. Our season closed out officially last Monday We had a great one!!!!! I wanted to say thank you to all of our coaches and parents that help out with our group so much. All the score have been submitted we have hada. Wonderful season with our teams finishing in first or second place great job everyone! Thank you to Hollie and John for all their work with the 8 and unders Hollies team got first place this season and Johns team got second, all the kids played so well and learned so much this season! Thank you to Hank and Mike for all their work with the 10s this season they really put in the time and it showed this season as this age group practiced the most. Very proud of our teams My red team got first place and that is due to all the help from the coaches this season. Coach Hank and mikes team got second place and do a n amazing job. (Yes there is one score that was not entered and I am sorry for that. It happens in all the age groups from time to time. Teams that do not care how they get seeded at states will tend not to put score in when they loose. We have even run into teams that will not put in the scores when they loose so they can get seeded better at states. It happens from time to time we were away and the parents of the other team did not turn in the scores to their pro, sorry) Thank you to Coach Claire for all of her work with the 12 beg and the 14/18 beg groups she did an awesome job with so many kids this season! Her team had a perfect 6-0 record for this season great job kids fighting out some close matches! Thank you to Coaches David and Ray for all their hard work with our 12 int team that finished with their first perfect season after moving up from 10 int state win they had a 6-0 record for this season and played very well together! Thank you to Coach Gerald for all of his work coming after his job and working his schedule around his team (trust me I know how hard that is) his 14/18 beg team showed how important it is to keep scores close and that every point counts they got second place with only winning two matches this season! It was a hard one with two teams in their division having so many int players playing down against a team that was made up of 25% new kids to tennis, wow! Thank you to all my parents for all your help and amazing kids! Our 14 adv team won with a 7-0 record it was awesome to see so many of the original players from the first team we ever had back together and playing their hearts out!! Thank you to player Captain Steven Harvey for his work with his 18 int players and going out of his way picking players up and keeping in great contact with his team. They finished in third place in the 18 int/adv division over even two of the adv team in that division wow! Thank you to player captain Rachael Palmer for her hard work leading her 18 adv team to a perfect 8-0 first place finish as they show how amazing they worked together! We will plan for a party for all these amazing kids in January before school tennis starts. (After the team tennis meeting for the year when I will pick up all the trophies) I am very proud of all of the kids just a really great season! We will also have one more tournament group the week before school tennis starts in January as well. I will be excited to see how all the kids on school teams do this spring for their communities and look forward to seeing all of our kids that will play for us this spring as well!
