The entire poetry and music community of Toronto is in shock at the sudden passing of Nik Beat. I can barely grasp that he is gone. Still numb from the news. As an integral part of the creative life of Toronto and as a friend to many poets, artists, actors, musicians and so many, many others...... he will be deeply missed even as he is honoured. He was a special friend who I had ups and downs with and who I loved and am terribly bereft tonight. Many blessings to Nik in his passing.
