The first prize for our raffle will be a night’s stay at the historic Rathbone Mansion in New Orleans, LA. With a Voodoo Queen buried in the nearby St. Louis Cemetery, it is a spirited neighborhood. In 2009, the Southern Paranormal Researchers visited the Rathbone Inn and ran tests between the two inns with their antebellum architecture surrounded by Spanish oak Trees and 19th century creole homes. Here is what they found. A spirit of a woman in a long black dress inhabits the third floor. With her dark hair in a bun, she has an imperious attitude and feels she should be catered to. The ghost of a teenage boy has also been seen. Rooms are routinely walked into only to find a television which had been turned off, is blaring cartoons. And finally a Creole man that roams between the two homes is said to pull visitors into nightmares so intense that they are described as doorways into another dimension. Since that investigation the group added the finding of a 7 year old girl in the mix, and something deeply disturbing in the Slave Quarters behind the house.
