The following message is sent on behalf of MG Augustus L. Collins, The Adjutant General of Mississippi: It saddens me to announce the death of Major General Cathy S. Lutz, Assistant Adjutant General for the Mississippi Air National Guard. In over 30 years of service to her state and nation, she became one of our nation’s premiere advocates for better health care for our Soldiers and Airmen. Her dedication, strength of character and unrelenting will to improve the lives of our Service Members will be her lasting legacy. She was an outstanding nurse, great Airman, loving wife and a friend to all. She will be sorely missed. Please keep the Lutz family in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral arrangements are as follows: Sunday 19 Jan- Visitation 1800-1930 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Canton, MS Monday 20 Jan- Visitation 0900-1100 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Gluckstadt, MS Monday 20 Jan- Funeral 1100 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Gluckstadt, MS Monday 20 Jan- Internment immediately following the funeral @ Canton Cemetery, Canton, MS In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
