The following poem was written by Fountains at La Cholla resident Mrs. Elise Gilden. She wrote the poem after taking a Watermark University poetry class taught by another Fountains resident, Mr. Carroll Rinehart. We share it proudly with her permission. Once there was a mother. She had delusions of perfection in the keeping of her house. But she was getting older, and her children, got bolder. They said “Mom, your health is more important than the beauty of your home.” You must remember always that things don’t make a home! She thought and thought about it. There was no doubt about it. The thing she really wanted was her daughters one and two. If they were happy for her in a place she chose herself. Secure and helpful, with room to live and spread. Then she would choose THE FOUNTAINS, and let no more be said. -Written by Elise Gilden, Fountains resident-
