The furry children and I just got back from roaming the land in search of wood pellets. Again. Wed run out of them before but finally found some here and there. We used them up and winter hadnt gone yet, so we decided, what the heck, well just turn the electric heat on in all the rooms we use until its Spring. Well, it is Spring now. The electric bill has come for the month we were pelletless. It went from under $200 to $631. This was a great motivator in my quest for pellets, since we are supposed to have even more Spring Sunday through Thursday, with possibly 6 to 8 inches of Spring thanks to what the weather people are referring to as a bomb. Hollenbachs still have their big sign outside advertising pellets for sale, so I went hopefully in and asked about them. But they too were out of pellets, and I suspect they only keep that sign up to lure people in to buy other things. Since I am immune to such blatant manipulation, I bought the new Gooseberry Patch cookbook and Lilac Blossoms Yankee Candle Tea Lights for the fake fireplace log. :-) So I am still on a quest for pellets. I am not optimistic. I asked the puter to help me locate pellets, and it thoughtfully pulled up an article telling me eastern PA is facing a shortage of wood pellets. No shit, Sherlock. So unless Im able to find pellets soon, on Tuesday night into Wednesday or whenever it is were scheduled to get many inches of Spring, Ill be sitting in the living room with visions dancing in my head of the electric meter spinning round at warp speed, while I watch Spring fall gently outside as the aroma of lilacs emanate from the fireplace.
