The human skull (1) A really interesting anatomical object to study to all those who love drawing, painting, carving, sculpting, tattooing, etc. (2) A very cool looking object/sculpture of nature, often used by rock n rollers, motorcycle freaks and in cult imagery. (3) The structural frame of our own heads & faces. Most people underestimate the importance of the skull in how our own facial features are formed & what they look like in the mirror! Well, not me, as I have been fascinated by (human) skulls all my life, as long as I can remember. The thing about skulls I like the most: every decent artist can create their own version of it. Mostly I only like the ones that look really neat, cool, kind or funny & have their own personality... Some seem to look you right in the eyes! Regarding my own skulls; I try to make them look attractive, friendly or let them smile because I not so fond of the average, mean looking examples. To me, the human skull is a lifelong object of study. Ive lost count on how many Ive created in different media. Anyway, heres my latest on a 1937 USA Buffalo nickel!
