The illusion that if a very corrupt president is voted out, - TopicsExpress

The illusion that if a very corrupt president is voted out, Nigeria will automatically begin to be filled with less corrupt governors, dep governors, commissioners, state house of reps, lga chairmen, councillors has really eaten deep into the psyche of many of even the most educated of Nigerians. . . i think ive been so very guilty myself at a time in the past to have focused so much on Aso Rock led corruption, while i care less about the corruption in my local government council area and state i live. . . But i blame the press or media people the most for focusing less on investigating and exposing corruption at the grassroot and state politics. . . Shagari government history makes us know was very corrupt, but everytime i imagine that it was under this same government a Lateef Jakande excelled so high above other governors, then i often ask myself, if forexample this former Lagos State Governor led to build from scratch 13 Massive Low Cost Housing Estates in just four years, what were the other state governors then doing that they couldnt at least build minimum of 6 or 7 of this kind of estates in their various states?. . . The politicians that are surely feeling less pressure of press or media scrutiny all over the country are surely the ones at the state and especially local government level, although the ones at the federal know all many of us do most of the time is to act as if we are unbiased analysts when we are not, no wonder a Doyin Okupe can immediately reply even a Wole Soyinka criticism of Gej. . . Doyin knows he is a sycophant is a fact, but he wouldnt have replied Wole Soyinka, if the man had probably avoided mingling, smiling, pampering and dinning with equally very corrupt opposition party members.
