The internet is where youre allowed to offend people. The internet is where youre allowed to be odd. The internet is where youre allowed to promote yourself, critique someone else, fulfill your self-importance, or divvy out tongue lashings. It is life as we know it. Its a new social norm. Complain. Or dont. Offend people. Or dont. Participate. Or dont. It doesnt matter. But, it still does matter. Just like the people who chose offensive costumes, your outrage is equally disrespectful. Just like those people who post post racist YouTube comments, your bashing, bullying, & categorizing is JUST AS judgmental & discriminatory. Youre a complete & TOTAL hypocrite if you think youre allowed to express yourself on here & someone else isnt. Youre a complete & TOTAL hypocrite if you think you can broadcast what you think to be right & wrong but someone else isnt. Youre a complete & TOTAL hypocrite if you think its okay to post all the love & inspiration of the world but someone else isnt allowed to highlight the hate & despair. People are still people whether they are in front of your face or in front of your screen. Communication, respect, tolerance, & EQUALITY will always be the right decision to act on. Calling a racist names is acting just like the racist. Bullying bullies is the exact same action. Being outraged over someones Halloween costume is just like them being outraged over an incident or trial. The minute you stop relating to people, trying to understand people, or attempting to be fair to people is the moment you become worse than those people.
